Help the Midwest’s 1:1 districts learn from each other about innovative teaching, learning, and administrative practices that are occurring in their districts;
Build excitement and ‘buzz’ around 1:1 laptop computing initiatives in the Midwest; and
Help others who are interested in 1:1 computing learn more about how to get started and be successful.
The institute is open to anyone interested in 1:1 laptop computing initiatives in P-12 schools, whether they currently are working in such a program or just want to learn more. http://iowa1to1.com/ Session Resources
Attendees will be inundated with options for infusing technology into their math classrooms including, but not limited to, management techniques, content delivery, content practice, and formative assessments. Tools will be Google-heavy with many others joining in. Thirteen different technologies will be introduced during the course of the session. Participants will be part of a mini-lesson that my students experience on a daily basis. Be sure to have devices.
I love technology. Been an Apple geek since 1987. I am all about teaching math in ways that will get students engaged and interested in the topic by giving them choices and input to their learning.
